Business rates
A property tax on most non-domestic properties (shops, offices, warehouses).
Business rates are charged on most non-domestic properties — shops, offices, factories, warehouses. Calculated as the property's rateable value × the multiplier (49.9p small business, 51.2p standard for 2024/25).
Small Business Rate Relief gives 100% relief on properties under £12k rateable value, tapered up to £15k. Most home offices are exempt.
