Frequently asked

My company is dormant — do I really need to file?
Yes — every UK Ltd has to file dormant accounts every year, even with zero activity. If you don't, Companies House will strike the company off (and could fine you up to £1,500).
When are accounts due?
9 months after your accounting period end-date for Companies House, 12 months for HMRC corporation tax. We'll track both deadlines and chase you well in advance.
I keep my books in Excel — does that work?
Fine. Just send us a clear Excel sheet, the bank statements for the year, and any receipts/invoices. We'll do the technical work. If you want, we can move you onto FreeAgent or Xero (subscription included on our Business package).
What if I file late?
Companies House charges £150 for up to 1 month late, scaling to £1,500 for 6+ months. HMRC adds further penalties on the corporation tax side. We can usually still file fast enough to limit damage.
