Profit
Income minus allowable expenses — the figure tax is calculated on.
Business profit = income (turnover) − allowable expenses. For UK tax: taxable profit may differ from accounting profit because of disallowable expenses (e.g. client entertainment), capital allowances (instead of depreciation), and various adjustments.
