Blind Person's Allowance

An extra £3,130 tax-free allowance on top of the standard Personal Allowance.

The Blind Person's Allowance adds £3,130 (2025/26) to your tax-free Personal Allowance if you're registered blind or severely sight-impaired. It can be claimed by either spouse or transferred to a partner if unused.

Claim by writing to HMRC with a copy of your Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI).
