Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

Our annual statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Statement period: financial year ending [YEAR_END] · Approved by the Board · Last updated: 08 May 2026

1. Introduction

This statement is made by MyTaxFile Ltd (the "Company") pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps we have taken during the financial year to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or supply chains.

While our turnover is currently below the statutory threshold of £36 million for mandatory reporting, we publish this statement voluntarily because we believe transparency in this area is important regardless of size.

2. Our business

MyTaxFile is a UK-only accountancy services firm registered in England and Wales (company number [COMPANY_NUMBER]). We provide tax preparation, bookkeeping and advisory services to UK individuals and businesses. We have a small distributed team of qualified UK-resident accountants. We do not manufacture, source or trade physical goods.

3. Our supply chain

Our supply chain is short and predominantly UK-based, comprising:

  • Software and SaaS providers (UK-hosted accounting software, email, document storage, web hosting)
  • Office supplies and equipment (laptops, peripherals)
  • Professional advisers (legal, insurance, regulatory)
  • Banking and payment infrastructure

We assess the modern slavery risk in this supply chain as low due to the predominantly white-collar, UK-based nature of our suppliers and the absence of high-risk industries such as agriculture, construction, manufacturing or hospitality.

4. Our policies

We maintain the following policies relevant to modern slavery:

  • Anti-slavery and human trafficking policy — affirms our commitment to acting ethically and prohibits any form of modern slavery within the firm or our supply chain
  • Recruitment and right-to-work policy — we verify the identity, immigration status and right to work in the UK of every team member before employment commences
  • Whistleblowing policy — provides a confidential channel for employees and contractors to raise concerns about any wrongdoing, including suspected modern slavery
  • Supplier code of conduct — incorporated into our standard supplier terms; suppliers are required to confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015

5. Due diligence

For new suppliers, we:

  • Review their published Modern Slavery Statement (where they have one)
  • Include a Modern Slavery clause in our supplier agreements requiring compliance with the Act
  • Decline to engage suppliers about whom we have credible concerns

6. Training

All employees receive an induction that includes our anti-slavery policy and how to raise concerns. Senior staff receive periodic refresher training as part of their compliance CPD.

7. Effectiveness

During the reporting period, no instances of suspected modern slavery were reported through our whistleblowing channel or identified through supplier due diligence. We will continue to review the effectiveness of our approach annually.

8. Approval

This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of MyTaxFile Ltd and will be reviewed and updated annually.
